Topic: Cunill Brasil Grinder (3 msgs / 50 lines)
1) From: Stephen Jones
I would like to put in a plug for the Cunill Brasil grinders (no financial
interests, of course). I got one pretty cheaply (about $150, used of
course), and have been very pleased with it. I'm not
mechanically/electrically gifted, and can't claim extensive grinder
experience (whirly blade to Saeco to Maestro and now Cunill) but it seems to
be built like a tank (and kind of looks like one too) and grinds very
nicely. I removed the top portion of the grinder Saturday, which was easy,
and gave it a thorough cleaning (after running rice through it to try to
clean out the oils). I can't say it's infinitely adjustable, but it is very
adjustable. It has a doser, so I can grind as much coffee as I want without
worrying about a timer, which is why I didn't want the Cunill Tranquilo.
So if you do a little hunting, you might be able to find one. I think
they're good value for the money.

The Cunill Brasil is a little more grinder than the Rocky, about a
third of the way to Mazzer Mini in terms of power, weight, burr and
cost. Does it have step-less grinding adjustment?

No, it's got notches. It's possible to set it to 1/2 way between
notches, however.
