Being kind of wet behind the ears on this subject I risk offering up a
suggestion that may be obvious to others so please forgive me if this
wastes your time.
After a week of use with my new La Pavoni Europicolla I wanted go beyond
the standard group head wipe down I was doing. I don't have one of the nice
brushes Sweet Maria's offers, (yet), so to get into the tight area where
the porta-filter seats I wet a standard drip filter and laid it over the
head, seated it, pulled a shot of hot water and removed the head.  Three
repeats of the process later I was much cleaner.  I could not believe the
stuff hiding in those crevices.
