I was just finishing a roast on an unmodified Poppery I when the fan noise/force suddenly dropped in half or more. The heating element was still on and the fan was turning, but at significantly reduced volume. There wasn't any problem with any other electrical device. It was not a "new technique"/wetted load of beans. Can it be fixed? If so, how? Any help will be greatly appreciated. I think it was pretty well used before I got it. Thank you. Stephen Jones |
Sounds like one of the diodes that transforms AC to DC for fan either came loose (check the soldering) or is fried. |
I don't think the Popper 1 has those diodes, isn't the motor on these 110V? At 09:43 PM 7/28/2004 -0400, you wrote: <Snip> unsvbscribes) go tohttp://sweetmarias.com/maillistinfo.html#personalsettings<Snip> |
<Snip> 110V? Right! No diodes. I would check to see if the motor got some chaff caught in it somewhere - maybe check the brushes. My mistake, happened to me with my toastmaster. So used to thinking PII, toastmaster, etc. Might be a good time to modify your PI since you're going to have to break it open. |
