I have found it easy to clean if you soak it in hot water with a bit of dish
detergent and some Oxy Clean.  Works wonders!

It is best to take the handle off, buy loosen the screw that holds it and
the band on the chamber. If you get water under the band and handle and
roast before is completely dry it can and will cause the chamber to crack.
