I have owed two traditions to the list for quite some time now and have felt
rather badly about not reciprocating. Unfortunately, I just couldn't come
up with anything to offer...until now.
I just scored three copies of ESPRESSO: Ultimate Coffee (2nd edition) by
Kenneth Davids. Keeping one for my own enlightenment (naturally) that
leaves a morally symmetrical pair to offer to the list.
So, if you are interested in being included in the drawing for these two
books, please email me offlist (I would have made that OFFLIST, but the
people who never seem to read these things never seem to read these things -
even when capitalized).
Conditions: none whatsoever. Since I'm getting myownself out of the Puppy
Quarters, I find myself in a poor position to require anything of the
entrants (except that they EMAIL ME OFFLIST, of course). So, if you already
have a copy of this book and just want to have another on hand for purposes
of proselytization and coffee evangelism, that's fine with me.
I will accept entrants for the drawing until Saturday Midnight (August 7th)
and will then think of a suitably arcane way to select the two winners on
Sunday.
Oh wait...I will make one small condition: In honor of my darling wife,
Judith, who likes to do things to me along the lines of:
"Can I have some of your barbecue?"
"Sure, sweetheart."
"Would you like some more?"
"No. I just remembered I guess I really don't like it all that much..."
Now, you are bound to wonder, is there the tiniest chance in this particular
universe that the fact that she doesn't like it all that much will prevent
her from asking for more, the next time I have some on my plate?"
In answer to that, I will require of the entrants that they actually *want*
a copy of this book.
