Hi, all. I'm happy to be a part of the community.

Roasted my first batch of green beans last night (Uganda AA Bugisu 2004 =
from
our moderator/owner). Brewed my first cup of REAL coffee this morning =
in
that high-tech gadget known as a Poppery II. (Nothing fancy - no
thermometers, variacs, venting. Just the Poppery II and waiting for 1st =
and
2nd cracks.)

Wow! What a difference! I've enjoyed a lot of coffee over the years in =
a
number of countries and never have actually experienced the different
flavors in the coffee. Coffee has always just been "coffee" -- now it's
Coffee. I now have a perky little hobby that will keep me grounded - =
but
not a drip!

My many thanks to everyone who blazed the trail for home roasting in the
Popperies and for all the advice they've freely posted on the web. Many
thanks to Sweetmaria's, too, for providing green beans at reasonable =
prices.
With a variety pack of 8 different beans, I'll enjoy getting to know =
Coffee!

Hopefully, I'll be able to give back some of my learned wisdom. As soon =
as
I acquire any!

You'll soon learn that 'moderate' is not a word that applies to this
list

Welcome Brent.
That Bugisu is a tasty bean. Unfortunately it didn't last long round here,
guess I'll just have to buy more.

Brent,

Welcome to the slippery slope! By the way, Uganda Bugisu is my favorite all around coffee. You started with a good one! It is a very forgiving coffee. It also has great flavor at all roast levels.

Brent:
We be the BEST and BADEST coffee group around. Just wait until "the little
spats" start. You can jump right in, sounds to me like you have a great
sense of humor.

How can anyone expect moderation from a bunch of caf-fiend people?

13) From: gin
You can't, hence John's comment about "moderation".
Remember Angelo this a truly a "collection of crazies"

Welcome Brent, this is a great hobby and a great list. Lots of =
experience, knowledge, and opinions here. And a lot of fun (and some =
spats, as Gin alluded to) and various other "rabbit trails" to follow or =
ignore, depending on your time and preference. But over all a great =
place to be :-)
