I'm interested to know if anyone has used or has any experience with the Hario Water Dripper (Pota). It appears to be a variation of the standard Hario Drip Coffee Pot but with a flow adjuster to regulate brew time. The description is vague on the website so it is hard to tell. Also I like that it has a cover for the filter area. I think that's a good idea to prevent heat loss after you add water. It seems like a good way to finely tune brewing (i.e. with the flow adjuster). Thanks - Andy homeroast mailing listhttp://lists.sweetmarias.com/mailman/listinfo/homeroast |
I think that's a device for making cold brew coffee (Dutch coffee). It uses cold water and takes overnight for a full pot. You can experiment with your drink pitcher and very fine ground coffee in your refridge. You don't drip but mix. At just above freezing point it takes about 25 hours to be done. Andy, Go into your local Chinese neighborhood and find a hard/house wares store. For about $5, you can buy a stainless steel coffee drip pot. It's the kind that is used in Vietnamese restaurants. It sits on the cup and drips into it. This has pretty much the same "controls" as the Hario pot..... Ciao, Angelo |
