Hi Ed, It sounds like either those dimmers/lights are on the same circuit as the roaster outlet or you have a serious power/wiring problem. Have you determined if they all share the same circuit? If they do search for another outlet for the roaster. If that socket does not share the same circuit you may have a wiring issue. There could be loose connections somewhere along the main branch circuit from the meter to or in the main panel that contains the breakers. Do you know if you have aluminum wire in the house, this type of wiring was a bad idea. It turns out the connections do not stay tight and end up causing all sorts of problems. Food for thought! Thanks Monty. When I moved in seven years ago, I did a thorough inspection of each fixture and outlet, checking and tightening each one, and replacing any that were worn out. It's got copper throughout, but it's an older house that's had a major renovation. The only dimmer or fan that affects the roaster is the bathroom dimmer. It operates six bulbs over the vanity and probably creates all kinds of dirty feedback on the line. I may try replacing the dimmer itself with a more expensive one. The turning off all the dimmers and fans is superstition on my part . Regards, Ed Needham |
