Hi, Nancy, Sorry for the earlier partial post. Unfortunately, the medical establishment of states like Oregon, Washington, California and Florida doesn't see a need for more doctors. They require all applicants for licensure, even experienced and board-certified sub- specialists licensed in other states, to re-take and pass the Internal Medicine Boards, no matter how long ago they passed them. Of course, studying for them takes months, even for younger and spryer brains fresh from academic medicine, so that can play havoc with an established and busy practice.
