Topic: Dead Popper (2 msgs / 40 lines)

Well the inevitable happened! Got past 1st crack on a roast and then "no
where"! My Toastmaster toasted, not roaster my PNG!! :-( Whipped out my
trusty screw drivers to get at that d@#n safety thermofuse and guess what?
More safety...silly little triangular drive screw heads.
So off to the thrift store to get a backup popper. Got two. $7, (SF Bay
Area inflation!!). One works ok, the other... no... the bimetal thermostat
won't let it heat above 345dF. So, now I have 2 the pull apart and bypass
the nasty safety devices. I have a variety if screwdrivers, but can't seem
to find the right head width to torque and not slip in the triangular heads.
I will probably drill out the screw and replace with Phillip's head screws.
Where, oh where is that elusive Poppery I, I have been looking for months to
no avail!!
Cheers,
Geary

I have a screwdriver set, from one of those travelling road shows that sell=
s
cheap tools from trucks. It has a handle and 35 or 40 tips of various
unusual types.
