I've had my Rocky for several years and I'm finding that the beans don't always go through, especially very dark beans. I have to shake it to get the beans moving. Any hints???? Should I run some dry rice though it to clean it out?? Thanks Wendy |
Yes... On 5/15/06, Wendy Sarrett wrote: <Snip> ribes) go tohttp://sweetmarias.com/maillistinfo.html#personalsettings<Snip> -- Regards, Brett Mason HomeRoast Zassman |
Dark roasts are challenging for grinders (oil). Keep them clean; use minute rice, not regular rice. |
Thanks for the tips! I suspected that. I'll go pick up some minute rice then. Wendy |
Hi Wendy, The minute rice thing works. I have used it after trying to grind some = beans with hazelnuts mixed in. By the way don't try that trick. One other thing which helps greatly is some sort of piston plunger. Mine = is inspired by the one made by George aka caffeeguy (sp?) on the = coffeegeek forum. other folks have used Click-Clack lids and even = plumbers helpers (new hopefully). You may not to go as nuts as I did in this link but you can see a = picture of my plunger as well as my doserless conversion.http://coffeegeek.com/forums/espresso/machines/139606?LastView=11477627=07&Page=1 Phil |
