Tom's notes are accurate, especially regarding the aroma: dry aroma is not at all indicitive of what comes in the cup. Scroll half way down the page for the notes on this bean: As I roasted this, I paid more attention to the roast aroma and visual inspection of the beans. I did not hear ANY 1st crack sounds. Once the initial chaff was done, I only kept the roast going a minute longer. cheers, ScoTTT |
I picked up 5 lbs of this... Very strong citrus flavor; too much for me. I may roast 1/2 lb at a time o= n occasion, but I won't be working my way through a pound of it again. Last night I roasted over 2 lbs of Uganda Bugisu...Love the Bugisu! On 5/23/06, Scott Miller wrote: <Snip> |
Only once have I managed to nail the roast on this bean to my satisfaction. Note that's one out of six or seven roasts. I became convinced that my "perfect roast" window was too tiny for me to nail again, and this made me sad. Recently, I was thrilled to discover that blending a slightly overdone batch with a "brighter-than-ideal" batch yields an exceptionally nice cup. The 'melange' approach saves the day again! So I would say...go for the C+, damn the torpedoes, and if it comes out brighter than you care to drink (as it did pour moi) then blend with the FC+ and check out the result. ~TO On 5/23/06, Wesley Simon wrote: <Snip> s <Snip> e <Snip> y <Snip> |
