Finally finished the SCTO (well, is it ever really finished?) - at least =
enough to actually roast when the new shipment of beans come in =
(estimated for arrival Weds) and the turbo oven arrived today.
Updated pictures of the SCTO and new drive-shaft:http://www.atgi.com/Stir%20Crazy/index.html
I found a pretty good way to fix the motor rotational problems with the =
StirCrazy. I found a Bronze Sleev Bushing that is EXACTLY the right =
size of the diameter of the SC drive-shaft hole which measures exactly =
11/16 of an inch - who makes ANYTHING 11/16 of an inch???? Took me an =
hour at Lowes to find the right part - I mean the ONLY part that exists =
at Lowes of this size.
Now the motor runs perfectly and the arms rotate very smoothly and have =
a lot more strength then I originally thought - they can push the beans =
without any effort, even with the copper tubing arms. It works much =
better then I first thought when I saw how much trouble the arms were =
having the way i did it the 1st time.
I ended up picking up a Dremel cutting kit for $10 and was able to cut =
down the 1 - 1/8" bronze bushing to a more desirable height. Dremel's =
are great.
later,
jason
