My ECM Giotto is now officially 1/3 horse power. I've replaced the solenoid pump with the motor and ProCon rotary pump. I still need to tune the pressure... To get a feel for how fast the new pump flows... I put an empty PF on the machine and placed a one oz shot glass under it. It was full in two seconds. A few details: To avoid buying a BSPP fitting, I made my own adapter - just put a compression fitting on the 1/4" hose that attached to the original pump. My water reservoir for now is a PUR water dispenser. I created a simple adapter to attach to the dispenser. I'm still tuning, but the machine is happy to sit and keep its boiler full. I'm waiting until I put a gauge on the PF before I start pulling shots. |
Congrats! Just curious, were you able to use the reservoir space and do an inboard or did you outboard mod? It's outboard. I have a big motor. With a smaller motor, I could have = probaby fit it inside the machine. It's going to be a few days before I put a pressure gauge on it. I tried = pulling a shot anyway, and it came out faster than I'd like - at the = end, the boiler pressure went up a bit. I think I'll get a pressure = gauge on it before I try again. |
