<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> I was lucky enough to get one of the samples Tom sent out. Roasted the DP Hue Hue this weekend. Even took some notes! While roasting, there was a lot of chaff being thrown out, more than other coffee's I have done lately. 1st crack was very pronounced and long lived, a pause before 2nd, then 2nd crack started while the beans were still fairly light. The aroma while roasting was outstanding! I rasted well into 2nd crack, though not through that spot where it is the busiest. The result was a rather uneven roast, ranging from french to city in color. The taste: For my first cup, I used french press, resulting in a very nice, full bodied cup. Outstanding flavor and complexity. 2nd cup was done with the Yama. This was a disapointment. Tasted a bit watered down after the fp, seemed lacking in all those rich flavors of the first cup. Thanks for the sample, Tom. Next weekend the Pergamino in parchment! Jim M |
