Funny story about a "stuck-together" Coffeemaster. I found one at a flea market and tried to get it apart to see the gasket. I, and the seller, couldn't get it apart for anything. I left it there, believing that it was a "frozen" gasket. Later on, when I found out more about these pots, I realized it was the model where the filter rod actually screws into the bottom pot. I was assuming it was the spring type. Perhaps the one on ebay is of this type, and the owner is not aware of the way it goes together.... I suggest you contact the owner and ask him/her to try to unscrew the rod. To the best of my recollection(the unit is put away, somewhere),
here's how it works: The filter rod rides in a hole in the filter. The rod
has about a 1/2" female threaded nut on the end. There is a bolt standing
in the center of the bottom bowl. All that has to be done is to unscrew
this and lift the upper bowl off. The filter itself stays in place.
I respectfully submit that, since you don't believe my statement,
perhaps you could pose the question on alt.coffee, where there are real
collectors of coffeemasters( I only have 3). They might be able to show you
the "proof" you need. I could do it by photographing the one I own, but
it's really too much of a bother...:-)
Ciao,
Angelo
