I think the air vs drum is an apple/oranges argument as long as you
have the same roast control in each method.   In general however I
think Drum= roast control more than air roaster does.  I know there
are a lot of exceptions to this but I think it is the root of much of
the experience that  drum coffee tastes better.  When I roast with my
RK my coffee is not just different but actually better than when I
roast with my un modded Poppers.  Jared

I started with a FR+8 and it didn't take long to split wire & Variac.
Next was the Hottop.
I recently received a Sonofresco.
Some of the best yirg came from the FR.
The Hottop is great across the board.
I'm still evaluating the Sonofresco, and it seems to excel @ darker roasts.
Lighter roasts will require increasing the stash.
