My wife has requested some decaf for our after dinner coffee. In the seven
or eight years that we have been home roasting we have never tried a decaf.
So, have any of you Behmor users roasted a decaf that you would recommend
and which setting did you use?

I did El Salvador Las Ranas, 1/4 lb., P1, A. (Wanted a FC; and I don't  
drink decaf often enough any more to warrant a bigger batch). Hit the  
+ button twice. Came out just right. Drinking it mostly as a SO  
espresso.

I recommend the African Highlands blend. If this is the same quality as it
was many years ago, you may enjoy it. In my popper and drum roast experience
with decafs, there is a tendency to run quickly into second crack and an
overroast is easy. Definitely do not underroast unless you like the taste of
wet cardboard. No experience with a Behmor.
I have sampled SM decafs a few times over the years and was disappointed.
Some non-SM decafs were an absolute horror, definitely undrinkable with any
profile, worse than Vietnam Robusta (which I could drink).

my only suggestion is to remember it roasts quicker than regular.  I do a lot of the SM Hilia Pitalito-good stuff.
