Usually it's "hey, this is pretty good for a decaf." But I just had a decaf macchiato that was great by any standard. Beautiful red and brown striped crema, swirled with a tablespoon of foam. Heavy bodied, with a fruit and chocolate flavor that's still with me a half hour down the road. The blend: 50% of the decaf Ghimbi full city, no oil, and 50% decaf (SWP) Sumatra full city/vienna, roasted three days ago in the FR+. I almost hate to write this before I reorder the Ghimbi, but the shot was so good, I couldn't restrain myself. BTW, the other shots of this blend/roast have been very good too; but today the espresso gods smiled on me. If you like decaf espressos, grab the Ghimbi before it's gone.
