The American Heart Association is meeting this week in San Francisco. There have been several presentations relating coffee drinking with the heart. Most of the correlations show a positive result.http://www.palmbeachpost.com/health/coffee-is-generally-heart-friendly-310749.htmlSo drink more coffee (not that I have to tell this group that). I tend to take media-reported medical research with a grain of salt, but I must admit it feels good to have my addiction of choice validated as being at least harmless, and possibly even healthful in some vague sort of way. :-) I wonder about one thing though - if I had heart rhythm problems, I'd probably be sufficiently freaked out by it that I'd tend to avoid caffeine. I'd probably also be getting advice not to drink it, by my doctor/friends/family. To me that seems like the most plausible reason for the 18% lower risk for arrhythmia among 4+ cup / day drinkers. -Dave On Tue, Mar 2, 2010 at 5:07 PM, F.R. Unless it's a 24oz quad shot Breve' latte like was just ordered, to which he added FIVE sugar in the raw packets. Then it might NOT be so healthy! You have 24 oz cups? ... I have trouble keeping a straight face when someone orders a large (20 oz in our shop). Well, sometimes the customer speaks enough & you gotta listen. cheers, Scott --> in an East African bliss from today's roasts... Yup, some time back I got tired of seeing 20oz cups from other shops walk by when my largest ToGo was a 16. So I caved to the American bigger is better mentality and brought in the "humungoid" 24oz by-passing the whimpy 20oz:-) FWIW at least it's quad shot by default on the menu. Sometimes someone only wants it as a double, not problem, same price. No price reduction for subtractions! Oh, once shortly after bringing the 24 in had it ordered oct shot. Yes, 8 shot 24oz. And it was an 8 shot peppermint mocha at that. He's a regular who usually orders a quad 16 pep mocha. As far as I know he never ordered the 24 oct again:-) Now I have work to do to finish closing!
