Topic: [Homeroast] Indian Coffee (8 msgs / 179 lines)
1) From: silas coelho
I will be traveling to India in mid august (Tamil Nadu-Pondicherry,
Maharashtra-Pune and Delhi), and I want to visit some coffee farms there. I
know that they do have Pulneys ,Sheveroys and Nilgiris plantations there,
but I'm not sure how accesible are the farms there, to be able to visit
then.
Anyone had any experience with India coffees?
Grato/Regards
Silas

I was in Hyderabad in the end of 2008 and was thinking that it would be
great to check out Indian coffee and maybe get some monsooned Malabar, but
didn't have time to venture out.
Now I'm in Milan and it looks like I may not have time to venture out to
find a good coffee bar, but there's hope yet, I may have to stay through the
weekend as the equipment is still stuck in customs.

Chris,
My wife and I are traveling to Hyderabad at the end of December to go to a wedding. Can you point to any coffee
plantations in the area? If we have some free time we'll go exploring.

there is an outstanding coffee/wine/cheese store in Milan called Peck (http://www.peck.it),which offers some decent coffee. I have been there few
years ago, but still 'unforgettable'
Try and enjoy!

Frank,
I never did find out if there was any coffee grown near Hyderabad and didn't
really even do any sightseeing (not even making it to Charminar) so I'm not
much help.
Enjoy the trip, though and let us know what you find.
