Debi brought her Krups drip 4cupper home for me to Cleancaf clean.
Surprising clean run through. Decided to test it out after brunch. (She's
been using it 2+ yrs, I've never brewed a pot with it.) Plus I wanted to
test the Rocky grind for the vac packs I make for her take to work. Ground a
dozen or so beans at a couple settings just visually inspecting the grind,
settled on 25 (compared to using around 9 for 2oz double shot, 12-13 for 5oz
double Cafe' Crema). Ground the usual 32gr for the 4cup (Krups 4cup is 20oz,
good so far:-) and brewed a pot (Kona Peaberry). Surprising decent cup. Oh,
used the permanent not paper filter. Was curious on brew temp. Checked water
just as it exited top with Fluke 16, jumped around from 180° to 195°f. Not
bad. Course the water is a kind of pulse stream so variation in temp reading
to be expected I s'pose.
Next to dial in the grind for the Bodum eVac weekday morning first pot. Will
try 20 on the Rocky dial first...
