Topic: [Homeroast] POLL: How many different coffees in your stash? (24 msgs / 447 lines)
1) From: John Mac
I just did a little organizing and found that I have 24 different types and two blends of Tom's finest greens. My wife thinks in "touched", (but doesn't complain about all the great coffee I brew.) What's in your closet? (no skeletons please) ;-) Cheers, John in Nor Cal Homeroast mailing list Homeroasthttp://www.sweetmariascoffee.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemIdx20">http://lists.sweetmariascoffee.com/listinfo.cgi/homeroast-sweetmariascoffee.comHomeroast community pictures -upload yours!) :http://www.sweetmariascoffee.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemIdx20

13 and 3 blends. Fred

I've got 81 lbs of 29 different beans, at the moment. And that's after having been on stash reduction since April, when I was at about 120 lbs. My goal is to get down to about 20 lbs so I can start ordering some of the interesting coffees everyone's been talking about lately. Right now I'm drinking last year's Guat San Jose Ocana. Nothing wrong with that one, but I'd like to be able to get some of the new ones, too. -AdkMike On Aug 16, 2008, at 8:09 PM, John Mac wrote: <Snip> Homeroast mailing list Homeroasthttp://www.sweetmariascoffee.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemIdx20">http://lists.sweetmariascoffee.com/listinfo.cgi/homeroast-sweetmariascoffee.comHomeroast community pictures -upload yours!) :http://www.sweetmariascoffee.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemIdx20

AdkMike, I'm drinking last year's Ocana, as well. I got this to the start of second crack, and I liked it better a little lighter, C+/FC. Still pretty good, though. I'll post stash numbers tonight. I know it's about 60 lbs, but not sure the # of origins. -Seth On 8/18/08, Michael Irrera wrote: <Snip> Homeroast mailing list Homeroasthttp://www.sweetmariascoffee.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemIdx20">http://lists.sweetmariascoffee.com/listinfo.cgi/homeroast-sweetmariascoffee.comHomeroast community pictures -upload yours!) :http://www.sweetmariascoffee.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemIdx20

Not counting gifts, I tend to go through 1 to 2 pounds per week. 29# total on hand ... 5# total Kona on hand (1# each of two Pele Plantation estates, 3# of SM Kowali Farms) Remaining 24# made up of 11 different beans 28# on order (delivery expected today) 5# each of a Tanzania, a Guatemala and a Columbia 2# each of 2 Ethiopians, 2 Panamas and a Costa Rica 1# each of 3 Hawaii (non-Kona) May also have to buy another 5 to 10# for my Christmas gifts (I gave 20# last year, each a mix of 1/4# each of 4 different beans). Oh, and i definitely need some more Kona. :) pat---- Marc wrote: <Snip> Homeroast mailing list Homeroasthttp://www.sweetmariascoffee.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemIdx20">http://lists.sweetmariascoffee.com/listinfo.cgi/homeroast-sweetmariascoffee.comHomeroast community pictures -upload yours!) :http://www.sweetmariascoffee.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemIdx20

I made a spreadsheet but i haven't kept it up to date the past month. At last count I had something like 140#, maybe 30 different varieties. some pounders, some 5s. a couple 10's of the staples or 'special buys'. we drink maybe 2.5# a week in the house, and then i roast 1 or 2# a week for others, depending on when i see them. i do have too much coffee on hand, but when a good buy comes along (Geshafest) I can't turn it down! I just invested in a Foodsaver and have begun vacpacking my beans to maintain max freshness (at least the max i can get without also buying a freezer!) -F On Tue, Aug 19, 2008 at 9:26 AM, Pat Sklenar wrote: <Snip> Homeroast mailing list Homeroasthttp://www.sweetmariascoffee.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemIdx20">http://lists.sweetmariascoffee.com/listinfo.cgi/homeroast-sweetmariascoffee.comHomeroast community pictures -upload yours!) :http://www.sweetmariascoffee.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemIdx20
