1) From: Bernard
Thanks to all who have weighed in on the "cold" Behmor problem. It is good to know you are not alone. Fast forward. Joe Behm does keep an eye on things and this morning (08/22/08) bright and really early there were two e-mails from Joe. The first was a list of possible problems from cleaning to the various things that could affect voltage delivered. The second was with an improved picture of the area to which The Fix is applied. This was quite clear and I did it. A full pound of Ethiopian Sidamo (P3) went to the first hints of 2nd crack without adding any time. Previously even 10 oz would scarcely get well into 1st crack even with the added minutes. My suggestion is to drop an email to the companyhttp://www.behmor.com/ and ask for the (new) clear picture of where and how to insert the screw driver and open the area. I say this because they ask that I NOT pass on this correspondence. Believe me The Fix does the job. Is there any down-side to this fix? My experiences with full lb roasts have been hit and miss, never making it to 2nd crack, but I seldom find myself needing to do a full lb.
