Topic: [Homeroast] Anyone know where to find a #2 non plastic filter cone? (36 lines)
1) From: Peter Genuardi
Folks - It seems I can find a #1 and a #4 ceramic or plastic filter cone and plenty of size #2 plastic ones, but I am having trouble finding a pour over cone, size #2 that is not plastic. I don't want plastic A. for leeching concerns and B. because the plastic will let more heat escape than the ceramic/porcelain and I worry about brew temp. I've done my google homework and found these pages, to no avail:http://www.sweetmarias.com/prod.brewers.shtmlhttp://www.fantes.com/coffee-manualdrip.html James at bluebottle coffee has some nice porcelain ones for sale at his two locations, but alas, I'm not headed to SF anytime soon. Also, anyone else notice that their local Whole Foods has installed the Melita pour over drip system? Ours put one in as part of a remodel a couple of weeks ago. No one's let them in on the secret that switching from Allegro to one of the local roasters would have a greater impact on quality than the plastic pour over cones. Funny thing is that they're located right next to an independent shop that has a clover and sources from a high quality local roaster. Anyhow, thanks for any leads on the #2 filter cone. - Peter Homeroast mailing list Homeroasthttp://www.sweetmariascoffee.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemIdx20">http://lists.sweetmariascoffee.com/listinfo.cgi/homeroast-sweetmariascoffee.comHomeroast community pictures -upload yours!) :http://www.sweetmariascoffee.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemIdx20
